Manchester Day Parade
曼彻斯特节大游行

Undertaking work with the community is a crucial task for Manchester Chinese Centre, especially with the new Chinese immigrants who are isolated mainly because of their lack of social communication skills. Chinese parents and their children are encouraged to integrate through voluntary work and participating in festivals. Both are good opportunities for them to make new friends and understand the structure of British society and culture.
However, helping Chinese parents and children integrate with local festivals and activities is equally vital. Manchester Chinese Centre has been involved with Manchester Day Parade since 2009 till now. Manchester Day Parade help the Chinese to integrate with the wider community and also provides Manchester Chinese Centre with a great opportunity to promote Chinese culture and art.

Participating in the Manchester Day Parade has involved working with many organisations and the wider community around Greater Manchester. Each year, according to the theme provided by the Manchester City Council and Walk the Plank, MCC create a piece of Performing Art. It is very challenging indeed! The Chinese community enjoy this event very much, and Chinese children have been growing up with Manchester Day Parade since 2009.
