Manchester Chinatown Archway

Manchester's Chinatown

The Chinatown archway is one of the most iconic landmarks in Manchester, and it helps to define the Chinese community and give the people an identity.

The materials used were mostly imported from China, and the twelve craftsmen and builders came from the Beijing Landscape and Classical Architecture Company.

The archway was completed in 1987 and was the largest in the UK until the completion of the Imperial archway in Liverpool in 2000.
