Young volunteers

“Give back” time

MCC encourages young people attending Chinese Schools to volunteer to help their local communities. Volunteering work can be an excellent way for young people to learn and develop new skills and gain work experience for future employment. We encourage them to specifically donate their time to the organisations that have given them support.

The young volunteers can work with the young children and teach the elderly how to use the computer and mobile phones every week at the school. There is also an organised career advice workshop for the young volunteers to learn about the different professional jobs such as Law, Computing, Education, Art and Textile, Medicine, Social Care … etc. We also signpost the young volunteers in the areas they want to develop their careers, such as medicine, education, or business. The workshops and voluntary work provide the young volunteers with insight, knowledge and experience about the jobs before they enter A- level.   It is a very valuable experience for them to do volunteering and attend the workshops.
