Workshop - Dragon Dance

This workshop introduces the principle of teamwork.  Total concentration is required from all the students to bring the dragon to life! -  Listen to the rhythm, use the steps, will it be a lively or sleepy dragon ……… you decide!

This workshop will require a minimum of 15 learners to run.  Music:  drum, cymbals, gong

Society at large loves the dragon and lion Performing Arts, especially during the Chinese New Year time.  Both dragon and lion dances combine culture, art, music (drum, cymbals, gong) and martial arts as a sport. Now dragon and lion dances have entered the international market, thus becoming more and more popular.

The Dragon Dance and the Lion  Dance are similar in the sense that they are both traditional dances and are popular performances at Chinese Cultural events.   They are often performed at festive celebrations like Chinese New Year, weddings, and new business openings ceremony.   The vibrancy of the colours of the costumes as well as the teamwork and the fun involved,  make this workshop very popular and exciting for children of all ages.
